Senior Technical Designer
Responsibilities:
- • Responsible for the fit, grade, design integrity and timely execution of all assigned Life Style Alliance products.
- • Ownership of the fit sessions: organization, measuring and preparing fit samples, following process, scheduling with all participants and planning fit model time with teammates. Has the authority to accept or reject fit samples.
- • Provides Technical direction to the factories on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit standards. Utilizes, Web PDM, digital photos, written comments, patternmaking, telephone conferencing or video conferencing to get clarity, build relationships with factories and for quick response. Must achieve a high level of clarity, comprehension and execution when sending fit comments.
- • Consistency of fit for each size range and category. Create templates and blocks for best execution in conjunction with Patternmakers. Timely and accurate communication of fit issues to all the factories. Keep within the fit model budget.
- • Problem solve, work through any roadblocks that can affect poor fit/quality or late delivery and communicate to your business partners and Director.
- • Involves partners (Design/Merchandising, Patternmaking) in the resolution of problems as necessary.
- • Issues grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
- • Be the “GO TO EXPERT’ for your category
- • Actively participate in fit evaluations and competitor analysis.
- • Manages Technical Designers as assigned.
- • Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested.
Qualifications/Experience:
- • This position requires a combination of Technical and managerial skills with proven success in garment construction, quality/workmanship, grading and fit evaluation.
- • Denim Experience a must
- • Must possess strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Technical Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner.
- • Must be able to take direction.
- • 5+ years experience in Technical Design
- • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Salary: $95,000 – $98,000 per year
