Kellwood and its family of companies believe it is important to support the communities in which we live and work. Our corporate giving program focuses on education, health and social welfare, and civic causes on the local, national and international levels. Financial donations through the Kellwood Foundation, merchandise donations, and associate volunteers are some of the ways we contribute to make a difference in our communities.
In St. Louis, the Kellwood Foundation, established in 1965, supports a wide variety of worthy groups through company and employee contributions. The St. Patrick Center in St. Louis has recognized Kellwood as a Key Player because of the contributions the Foundation and the Company have made to aid the organization in providing services and training to the homeless. Among the many other charities that have benefited from the Foundation’s support are Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, University of Missouri-Columbia, Washington University, American Cancer Society, Missouri Botanical Garden and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
Within our industry, Kellwood is a proud sponsor of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, established by The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue Magazine to provide financial awards and business mentoring to emerging fashion designers. We also provide support to Dress for Success (DFS) with funds and clothing. This international non-profit organization, which has 85 affiliates across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., the Netherlands and New Zealand, promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Some of the other worthy organizations we support financially include the United Way, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), Children’s Miracle Network, March of Dimes, and the Ronald McDonald House. Kellwood divisions also donate women’s clothing to drug rehab centers for residents for re-entry to the workforce, to battered women’s shelters and to charities for the homeless, as well as donating children’s and infant clothing to children’s charities.
In times of disaster, Kellwood’s response can be predicted: We will help. After 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the South Pacific tsunami and Southern California fires, the company and its employees donated funds, food, clothing, blankets, and household goods to disaster relief and clean-up activities. Many associates volunteered their time and skills for clean-up and rebuilding.
Our associates volunteer at many fund-raising events for charitable organizations - Dress for Success, March of Dimes, the Children’s Miracle Network, and other national and local groups. In addition to helping raise needed funds, volunteers participate in activities that range from walkathons, maintenance of riding trails and collecting litter to planning and attending charity galas.
Kellwood provides financial assistance to associates wanting to further their education and professional development through scholarships and/or tuition reimbursement programs. The Company also matches our associates’ contributions to the college or university of their choice.
The Kellwood family is committed to improving our communities through financial support and working together.
